most of the things in water that can make you sick are not visible to the naked eye - bacteria, viruses, etc. many are much smaller than a micron (1 million-th of a meter). I do not think your filter can remove stuff that small; because most commercially available water filters can't remove that stuff -- even the really good ones. The water might *look* clean and still make you very ill, or even kill you. to be safe: filter out the visible stuff, then a) boil or b) use UV-C a) boiling for 2 minutes will kill most (but not all) of bacteria and viruses. You want the temperature at 100C. At high altitude water boils as low as 68C ... not hot enough. Use a pressure cooker at high altitude. b) UV-C (c band ultraviolet light) will kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses -- a "SteriPen UV-C light" takes 90 seconds for a liter of water . neither boiling or UV-C will remove heavy metals, pesticides, or other chemical toxins.. so have your water tested before drinking it. You should test any new water source, and test all water sources at least once a year. Also ... common charcoal for grilling food doesn't work very well as a filter. You want "activated charcoal" ; that has been treated with oxygen at very high temperatures to make it more porous. It may be called "Activated Carbon". But still ... Activated charcoal is still not able remove lots of stuff that can kill you. Have your water tested before drinking it. I'll say it again because it is so important. Have your water tested before drinking it.

Creating a filter from a plastic container is like drinking clean water from the toilet. Plastic containers have plasticiser(micro plastic particles) that will be released in the water and will not be filtered. Those plastic particles take about a month for your body to evacuate them but if you drink water everyday(which you should) they will bulk up and create health problem. Always drink from glass or metal container especially when it's hot.

Hello... it's a practical approach that probably works but fysico-chemical I would prefer to have the charcoal filtration at the end. Diverse big particles can reduce the organic filtering capacity of activated charcoal because in general charcoal has a very wide but narrow structure of carbon channels capable of a high adsorption of organic compounds in the water.

When you pulled the cup out of the sink, I was like 🤭 lol...but I can relate. I'm trying to lose 40 lbs. We can do it! Let's start small by walking every day, and then replace 1 unhealthy food item with a healthier option every week. I still treat myself once a week with a savory snack that I can't eat all the time. It keeps me sane....lol, thanks for the vids. I'm learning a lot.💚
